2017 Photography Year in Review
One of the problems with writing a year in review post as a photographer is that there is still a lot of images that I have shot that I cannot share yet. This means that there are images that should be in this post, but cannot be in this post. So for those, you will have to wait until they can be shared with the world. Some of these include Lego that I have photographed for a magazine cover, some awesome band portraits and some awesome editorial portraits. But, you will have to wait to see those and enjoy what you can below.
So, 2017 I diversified my business a little more than what it had been previously. I shot a lot more personal work, and I shot a lot more than just bands and musicians. My focus has always been on advertising portraiture and still life and 2017 I set myself the task of pushing my work in that direction. I think you will see that in the images below. Let’s get started.
If you want to discuss your photographer needs, please do get in touch and let’s chat!
If you are like me and like short highlights, then this is for you. It’s a 1 minute video of some of my favourite images from 2017. Have a watch and then after that scroll down and see some more images.
Advertising portraiture has always been one of the key focus areas of my photography. Saying that, this is the biggest section of images that I loved from 2017 and includes a wide range of images from different shoots.
Bands and Musician Portraiture
Bands and Musicians will always make up a good portion of the photography that I do. It’s what I started out wanting to do and one of my favourite things to do. So here are some of my favourite band and musician portraits from 2017.
The nail industry is an industry that continues to grow within my photography. It’s also one of my favourite things to shoot! I shot a lot of nails in 2017, so it was very hard to bring this down to a manageable list of images. So here are some of my favourite nail images from 2017 (that I can share).
One area I have wanted to get into more is food photography. I love it, but never had the time to explore it fully before. 2017 allowed me to do that, both with personal work and commissions. Here are some of my favourite food photos from 2017.
Lifestyle and Documentary Advertising
I shot a LOT of personal work in 2017. Some of which has been included in above images, but others that need their own home. One of my favourite projects this year has been my Lego project. It has a special meaning to me and that makes it even better.
