Don Broco Rocksound Feature Shoot
This was my third time photographing the boys in Don Broco, and they are always an absolute pleasure to photograph. The first time was photographing singer Rob Damiani for an end of year feature… that shoot was a lot of fun and mostly took place inside an Airstream caravan with the catch phrase of the day being “It’s been a great year.”. The second time was a few months later after the excitement of their debut release Priorities had calmed down and they were in the studio starting to write their followup album. It’s been a quite couple of years for Don Broco since that shoot, but they are back with a huge bang now.
This time Rocksound asked me to photograph Don Broco in an amazing club called The Sway Bar in London. The main feature of the Sway Bar for this shoot was the light up dance floor. With their new album Automatic due out imminently (at the time of the shoot…it is out now!), it was the absolute perfect location for this shoot. We wanted to capture the mood, feel, and personality of Automatic and put it into print through images. It’s fairly safe to say that Automatic has a hugely 80’s influenced sound…but that is not a bad thing! The images reflect that feeling and are the perfect accompaniment to the write up on the release of Automatic.
The images in Rocksound
Here are what the images looked like in the magazine. It was Issue 203 (Summer 2015) and you could still pick it up from Rocksound.
Here are the images on their own. I think Rocksound were spoiled for choice from this shoot as the location really gave us a lot to work with.
Behind the scenes
My friend Oli was assisting me on this shoot and was kind enough to take some behind the scenes photos for me as well! 😀
There you go!
There you go! Images from my shoot with Don Broco for Rocksound Issue 203! If you didn’t pick it up, you really should. If you haven’t listened to Don Broco before, you really need to. They are some of the nicest guys in music and they make great music to boot…so check them out!
