The competition I was having as a band photographer for local bands and musicians has now closed. Voting ran for a month and the response to everything has been tremendous. So who won? Are you itching to find out? Well, read on and you shall find out.
First, let’s talk about the amazing prizes that our band photographer image competition had on offer. Now, when we set up this competition we ran it local to East Anglia. We did have some bands from London enter the competition, but all of the prizes we had lined up were in Norfolk and we wanted to keep this competition local to the East Anglia music scene. So, the winner will receive the following prizes…
•100 badges from Ka-Pow Badges
•Clothing from Skate and Surf clothing designers No Symbol Required.
•A feature in Norwich music magazine Outline Magazine. (this will be online and potentially in print if space allows).
•A discounted CMS website with North Walsham based Beauchamp Partnership
•A half day or recording time with The Mill Studio Norfolk

you can see from the list of prizes why I wanted to keep my band photographer competition fairly local. Though all of these prizes could be redeemed nationally, it was just easiest to keep things out of London and beyond and just focus on East Anglia.
So…now that I have babbled on a bit…who won? Well, first let me tell you about….ok, just messing around. Here is the winning image:
The winner is Norwich pop punk band Keep it Secret!!! Throughout the competition Keep it Secret was always up there, despite not having the most likes on there FB page (what are you waiting for, go like them now!!) Over the last two days of the competition though, Keep it Secret pulled into the lead and never looked back. Even though Keep it Secret not a London based band, they pulled their fan base from around the UK and the world to get them votes…winning by over 200!!
So make sure you check out their music. Rumour has it that they have been in the studio lately and will probably use the studio time they won to wrap up their album…so keep your eyes and ears peeled for that.

The competition was a lot of fun, and a great benefit to everyone involved. As a band photographer, I am always looking for ways to help the bands that I work with. Maybe next year we will expand the competition to include London…maybe not. Perhaps we will do something completely different. Who knows!!
